my hood wont shut
my stupid hood shuts and then sometimes wont shut
wahts the dealio
it is annoying as hell sometimes
someone told me i might just need to replace the cable?

1) Make sure the hood release mechanism (the lever inside the car) is retracting all the way after use. If it is pulled out at all, the hood will not lock in place. Lube the cable if it isn't and make sure there is nothing blocking it from retracting fully.
2) See if the hood latch under the hood is sticky. Again lube it if necessary.
3) Make sure the hood latch hasn't slid up/down/left/right. If the bolts holding it in place let it slide, then that could also explain the issue. You can adjust it by loosening the bolts and moving the mechanism as needed. You will understand better when you look at it.
More than likely it is one of those three issues. I doubt the actual cable itself is bad. Perhaps the spring mechanism for it, but again try lubing it before deeming it bad.
