Default VTEC IS NOT KICKIN in my SOHC 2000 civic

I have about 40k miles and this happen at 30k. The Vtec is not kickin in, can't feel it and can't hear it. I took it to the dealer and their was no codes or anything. I Replaced the spark plugs and cables, oil level is normal and I can't think what could be wrong.

NEED SOME HELP

How come the dealer couldn't figure it out?

I'd try another dealer, or actually even better, a private Honda mechanic

i hope you're not trying to hit vtec when the car isnt even warmed up yet. vtec wont activate unless engine is at proper temp and vehicle is moving. maybe your VSS is breaking down or your coolant temp sensor?!?

Can I ask how do you know it's not kicking in? You do know it kicks in at 5500rpm? You can barely hear much it less feel it in a SOHC vtec anyway? If you have an intake, cold or otherwise roll down your windows and listen for the click at 5500, if your not thowing codes i would check your engine oil, if it's too low you know it won't engage right?
