Saying you want to rebuild and engine and then stating you are a newbie is not a good thing to do. Noobs who try to rebuild engines usually never see that old engine run (well) again unless you are a mechanical genious with access to a machine shop.
Consider having a shop do it for you, or buy another good condition engine and run low boost on it.

if you want a very very boostable motor, don't do it yourself. even if you get decent deals on all the parts AND do the labor yourself, these people have them for cheaper: www.jgenginedynamics.com

BTW, ass is spelled as such using the letter "s" and sucks is spelled as such with a "c," a "k," and finally an "s."

Who cares if you haven't had personal experience with them? When a lot of people have had problems with them then why would YOU want to try them and be a statistic? It's common sense to me.
Ever wonder why the Victor X manifold no longer sports the JG name on it?

Back to original topic:
You need lots, and I mean lots of tools. Torque wrench, piston compressor, lots feeler gauges, plastigauge, metric sockets, metric taps, socket wrenches, breaker bars, etc. Then you need copper spray, WD40, PB Blaster, rags, newspapers, etc etc
Parts wise: You need at LEAST headgasket, head bolts or studs, rings, main, thrust, rod bearings, hone of block, that's all i remember cause I have to use the bathroom

Mantis I got this strange image of you doing the pee-pee dance as you were trying to type out your reply.
You know the great thing about the internet? It will still be there even after you finish your personal duties.
Sorry for the thread hijack. I just got a kick out of reading that. You may now return to your normally scheduled program.
