Is there a factory catless header that will bolt onto my '97 HX?

Actually there is. HX's have the cat in front of the engine with a 2 bolt flange under to attach to the rest of the exhaust system. An EX Civic of your generation with have a normal sized manifold with I believe the same 2 bolt junction (although it will be meant to attach to the EX cat). I'm pretty sure that works with hatchbacks, I'm assuming it will work with a coupe. Won't be legal (emissions's wise) either. Seeya.

What does a CVCC head have to do with the exhaust system? I have never heard of a CVCC equipped Civic made after '87. Besides, they had cats anyway.

Read up in the pre-92 board once in a while, you might learn something about CVCC.

What the hell are you talking about now? CVCC has absolutly nothing to do with this thread in the first place, and yes, the later model CVCC equipped cars DID have cats. The exhaust manifold of 3G and earlier Civics are completely different styles and bolt patterns then 88+ cars which once again asks the question, why are you trying to bring up a topic that has nothing to do with the subject of this thread? If I try to put a test pipe on my RX-7, does that mean it has a CVCC exhaust? NO!

the thread title is "Is there a factory catless header that will bolt onto my '97 HX"
CVCC was discontinued fifteen years ago and the last engine to use it had a completely different head, thus different exhaust manifold.
Just because an exhaust has no cat doesn't mean it's for a CVCC head.
yet another reason for the existance of this thread:

So.
Can someone confirm that the 96-00 EX factory exhaust manifold doesn't have a cat connected right up to it? Perhaps the non-CA ones? I was under the impression it did, just like my HX.
TIA
