Its not too hard. You will need to replace it of course, but It doesn't bolt to the plastic part, its removable. You remove the lower plastic piece, its got plastic snaps into the body of the car, and it yanks out. To get the B pillar piece out, that yanks UP, toward the upper seat belt pivot. Then you can remove the whole plastic piece. It should be self explanitory, but I'm guessing you'll want a 10 and 12mm socket with an extension.

I did a sort of 'cob job"fix. I stripped off the remaining plastic off the square shaft where the pull handle was. I found a pull knob with a set screw that fit the shaft. I also had to cut some of the kick panel to fit around the knob,but it really didn't look bad. much easierand faster than replacing the hole cable!!
