    My green sol

So, I'll try to have pictures in a day or two, but this explains why I'm parting it out.

I have completely gutted the interior, including the heater core, seat belts, SRS system, wiring for what won't be used, and removed the doors. I'm going to weld in a bar across each door opening to add stiffness, and weld in an aluminum panel to replace the doors. No top, just a vinyl snap in panel like a box cover on a truck, a roll cage, and a few other goodies.

Now the good part! I'm using the stock d16z6 block, running a thicker head gasket, a d15b7 head to lower the compression even more, and then slapping on a t3 turbo and I'll be running about 9 lbs of boost to start. Yes, this will be just a track car. So far, I have it down to about 1800lbs (rough guess), and it's just nuts. Still looking for an FMU and some DSM 450 injectors.

Just looking for any suggestions right now as far as lightening it, and you don't have to tell me it's nuts. I know it is. And like I said, I'll try to have pictures in a day or two.

what fuel setup are you going???
fmu with just injectors wont work.

you need to either, get a fmu, inline fuel pump.
    OR
    injectors, FMU, intank fuel pump.

why dont you just use the vtec head...compression on the z6 is 9.3 compared to the 9.2 of the b7 motor.

just slap on a thicker head gasket and you will be good.

my friend turboed his coupe dx witha straight t3 with some trim work and its running good..but i dont think it will beat my z6 turboed.

dont forget you need to get a missing link.

i assume that you already scrapped the 35 pounds of tar for sound deadning out.. if it is a true race car ditch the dash...no need the time slips will tell you all you need to know.. all you will need is a tach, egt, boost gage mounted on the a piller.. i would say the hot set up for that moter is a 12:1 fmu,, stock prelude injectors... walbro 255 high flow/pressure fuel pump.. with the lower compression you should be good for 10 psi no prob

I'm going to be running dsm 450's with the FMU. My buddy has the same setup on his CRX running 12lbs and hasn't had a problem at all.
I'm running the b7 head for lower compression and cause I have it sitting here, and I can sell the vtec head to fund other things in the project. Plus, with the lwoer compression, bump the boost a little more, and it's more than made up for. I'll still be running the Z6 intake manifold, so it won't be starved for air. Missing link? Don't need it if you have a place to slap the vaccum line becore the turbo! my buddy has been doing customm turbo setups for the last 5 years, so he's helping me out with some tricks.

Samba green, the bright one. I hate it! lol Just so... Attention grabbing. It'll be flat black when I'm done.

I have a love/hate thing with Samba. From what I've read on this board, it seems to be one of the rarer colors... around my area I encounter tons of white and red and the light blue, and once in a while a black one. There is one very ricy Samba in the area. I have NEVER seen a dark green one except in a picture on the net which may have been photoshopped.

Still... Samba attracts attention. If you start pulling 12s and whatnot at the track, you may want to leave it an eye-magnet like it is now..

Andy, I'm probably going to pick up an older explorer from a friend of mine for dirt cheap, so I'll need a trailer. Just have to find a place to put all this shit! My blue sol, the green race beast, the explorer and a trailer stake up a lot of space!

It is a pretty rare color. There is one other one in my area, and he works at a place that's right across the parking lot from where I work... Scary. But hehas altezzas, and some nasty rims, so I don't think I could have ever confused it this winter when I was stil using it as a daily driver.
About the greens. There were 3 different greens that I know of. The samba (bright ass neon green), more Jade or turquoise color, and then a dark green that looks black until you get close to it...

If you think I'm doing it flat black to look good, you are sadly mistaken. This car is all about budget, and all about seeing how far I can go with as little money as possible. Selling all the parts that I take off has funded most of the project so far. And I've sold jack, so that tells you how much other shit I had laying around, and how much my crew has been helping me out! I don't want to actually spend money keeping parts the original color if I'm going to be welding door skins onto the car. Aluminum is cheap, why go make it expensive by spending $50 on the paint to cover a door worth $8...?

I'll try to keep you guys updated on the progress!

It's cheap and easy power. And if you blow the engine, well, there's 300 for another d16!!! EASY!

Holy shit.... I'm agreeing with Crucial on something.... Maybe I'm gonna have to change my user name to "Bakeoff-T" or something...
