yeah in fact i wouldnt spend too much money on this car. the rust seems a bit extreme and any worthwhile repair to it is going to cost hundreds/thousands of dollars.

if getting another car is not an option, i would concentrate on safety first. a restoration towards how the car came off the factory floor. so like you said, new windshield, tires, and whatever else that may have been compromised by the rust.

Would like to to get something much faster than b16a but since the economy's slow on job rates. I cannot get that at the moment so therefore, I'm going for the b16a.

No need to worry about the rust, tires, windshield, and etc. I already got half of fix with no issues. I got a paint that will prevent rust. I'm spending less than $4000 on it. Most of the stuff will be done by me and my mechanic. I brough this vehicle because it my project to learn.

I don't see how the economy determines how "fast" your engine can be.

The b18b and b20b/z are cheaper than b16a's and definitely faster when paired with a b16 transmission. Plus, a b18b will be dirt cheap and give you an ideal platform to turbocharge down the road if you come up with some extra cash.

The only real solution to rust is chopping it out and welding in new metal. Stuff like anti-rust primer and naval jelly is only a temporary fix. Trust me, the rust will come back.

Yes i know that cutting and welding a piece of metal will be the best to not seeing the rust come back. I try those paint rust primer and it "fail." I'm going to try something else. It o.k to try and fail because i learn. How cheap is the b18 you mention there?

You can get it as cheap as $600-$700, but youll need transmission, as well as some other parts. We're talking about the B18b, of course. check out ebay and do a little research, just to have an idea.

That's pretty cheap but i would need to buy other part. I found a place near me that sell JDM. I would spend around $1800 for a whole engine, that include ecu, wire harness, starters, transmission and etc. $600 to $800 seem to be too cheap to me.
