Default Where is the radiator fan switch? or what ever makes it engage

(94 cx with d16z6 motor)

Cars overheating from radiator fan not turning on. Fan is functional (connected to 12v source and it turns on)

I know i had an aftermarket fan switch installed a long ass time ago... to make it turn on at a lower temperature..

anyone have any diagrams where to start looking?

yep, on thermo housing.

and if you pull the plug off and loop the two wires together with a short bare jumper wire or a paperclip as a test. It should kick the fan on if the key is in the on position. This will usually show you if your sensor is bad or not.

That sensor/switch is called the thermoswitch, just makes it easier to use that term if you end up looking for a replacement or search for info on it.

On that engine there's a separate sensor to relay temp. to the ECU (ECT, in head below distributor) and another switch just to kick the fan on, the thermoswitch.
