Default torque converter

I have been looking into performance torque converter... (yes, my civic is an auto...) one company I have been looking at says stall speed will be 300-800 above stock... will this make my car a bi*ch to drive? will it totally eliminate my little civic's fuel econ.?

Personally the amount you spend on a torque converter it would be better and more efficient to change the tranny to manual.

Some guy I read about once got a torque converter from Level Ten, and they told him that his fuel economy would actually improve because there would be less slippage in the tranny.

If you are going more performance oriented than yes a manual is better than any torque converter. The only people who use automatics are 4-7 second drag racers cause there is no possible way to shift that fast. The time and money invested in a torque converter is just not worth it for the amount of gains you get.

I can get my torque converter done for about $200 less than the avg. price and get it back the next day... but anyway I guess I was asking whether the 300-800 inc. in stall speed was too much to keep a nice drive
