Default Shifter problem

i have a dc short shifter, and for some reason when i shift it seems to catch alittle going into gear, it just seems to pause alittle and then it goes right in. is there a reason for that? did i install it alittle wrong or something. 2nd gear has always seemed to catch alittle since ive owed the car, when i installed the short shifter, it helped me shift faster but now catches alittle on all gears. Any suggestions?

Is it hitting your exhaust heat shield? Mine was. When I stuck my head out the door and shifted, I could hear the banging. I just took it off.

try some heat wrap around the exhaust next to the shifter.
