Cont. of my metal intake vs. plastic intake thread.opinions needed!
Ok, i've managed to track down an couple intakes for my car, but I am in a bit of a dilemma.
Option 1: ABS Plastic Evo Motorsports Short Ram Intake: Special group buy price of $200.
Option 2: LLTek.com Metal Short RamIntake, Retail: $288. I inquired about this and they said it was made out of steel..not sure if they meant aluminum or if it really is steel.
Anyway...Is it worth the extra $90 to save and go with the Evo plastic short ram. Will a steel intake dissipate heat as good as an aluminum one..i.e. better then the plastic intake??

Dude you need to look around more. If you go to www.modacar.com for example you have a alot of choices of intakes at better prices. There is both plastic and metal ones so that does not help with that descion . I figured I would try and save you some money and give you some varity.

steel will rust unless its stainless steel which i doubt.
so think about it
moisture from rain or fog going inside intake= rust
rust would make particles go into your mani
so it is bad

I thought you were looking for an intake for the SI. If you are looking for the A4 you should see what the major german tuners make(neuspeed, abt etc.) I would imagine they have some thing
