Default sounds right???

Cams don't make a difference. The Viper is an 8L... it only has ONE cam. It has pushrods. You can have as big a single cam as you want. The Accord 3L is a SOHC. Mecedes Benz's 5L V8 is SOHC. Displacement has no bearing on how many cams you need. As long as something is opening and closing the valves.

it just seems like if someone would come out with a stroker kit from the D16 and D17 so we could upgreade from 1.6 and 1.7 liters to 2.0 liters and have lower compression raions to run higher boost we'd be doin fine.

I would increase bore size before looking into a stroker kit to increase displacement. Sleeving and boring don't throw off the the geometry like stroking does. Also, I don't think anyone makes a D series stroker kit, there just isn't any demand for it.

If you're going to be running high boost, I would rather put the money into sleeving, boring, and tuning, rather than trying to stroke it.
