Default What kind of tires are good?

Any suggestions? I'm looking for something for everyday driving, but still has good street performance. Nothing too racey tho..
Just enough to get the car hooked up

AFter having my Yokohama AVS ES100's, I wouldnt recommend a Kuhmo for a damn bicycle (if they made one). Let alone someone in Canada.

I don't know if you're looking for a snow tire, but if you want rain/dry I'd recommend a Yokohama AVS ES100 -- cheap (about 10-15 more than a kumho, around $90 each shipped) and they are sooooooo nice.

Anyway, I know a good number of people around here have Kuhmo 712s.....good combination of performance and price.

Again, I disagree on the price performance
For $10-$15 more a tire you can actually get a good performing tire -- while the kuhmo is just merely better than stock, which isnt saying much.

AVS ES100 = 10x better than Kuhmo's and $10-$15 more a tire.
No brainer to me.

www.yokohama.com

Check out the AVS ES100's. I'm telling ya. Great bang for your buck.

I got mine off tirerack for $192.68 shipped, for 2 of them.

nice wheels. im guessing you'll need 16 inch all season tires.

I dont doubt Yokohama ES series...they are good tires, just a bit more pricey. My parents have them on their car. I dont know how "good" they claim wet traction...but from their predecessor...the AVS Intermediates...they arent that great. You'll be better off with Falken Azenis which are cheaper with the same or better performance. (and definately both are not for snow)

Kuhmo's are the best bang for the buck. They last long and have good wet weather traction. Very good all around tire for daily driving in wet and dry. (not snow) If daily driving is all it is...I recommend Kuhmo.

Best prices can be found at www.tires.com or www.tirerack.com

I used to run Yokohama's, I really dislike their sidewalls. They either cracked, bubble up, or just were overall very weak. Had to replace about 5 of them. I have no problems with my Toyo's. They are one of the best tires I've used and heard about. Only thing is they are somewhat harder to find.

Kumho's are also a quite surprisingly good tire...but just not for the winter.
