your friend is a dumbass. anyway the dohc vtec engine uses two cams, one for the intake and on for the exhaust (they are independent). the sohc vtec uses one cam for both the intake and exhaust side
the dohc vtec engine has more potential
the dohc vtec engine has more potential

not really..comparing the d16 to b16...they rate the single cam only having 107 lb/tq and the dualcam at 111 lb/tq...which ive read that to the ground the single cam puts out the same or more to the ground.

Tell your friend to line up next to a Corvette ZR1 with the LT5 DOHC V8 with no variable valve timing, then let's see what he says about DOHC being worthless without VTEC.

supposedly someone in japan is making a aftermarket bolt on kit for nissan sr20 engines, i know this can be adapted to 3sgte's and 4age's, it would be interesting to mount up the small port 4age's head to a b-16 block and see what happens, although the motor do turn in different directions, im not sure how this would affect it( plus the fact the plumbing would be all wrong...but still...in theory...a toyota atlantic head on a 12:?:1 compression motor would be crazy rev happy)
