Supercharger for 98 LX civic?
Who makes a supercharger for a 1998 Civic LX model. I know they make one for the ex model but i would like to know if they made one for an LX model. If so, would it be as fast as a stock LS or Gs-r? thanks people

Isn't the intake manifold on that engine set up differently so the throttle body is aiming straight up? I dont think that there are any for that engine.
Just off the top of my head running 6 lbs of boost (if that engine can handle it), you should be able to keep up with an LS, but I'm doubtfull about it beating a GSR.
I would recommend a motor swap instead. Using a dx engine as the base for speed isnt exactly a good place to start. If you would consider this we can give you some opinions for a certain price range.

I so want to get Turbo for my car... but no matter how many people swear it's reliable, 10/10 people I know that have it, all have problems with oil leaks somewhere... tough to maintain too, for some reason I think I'd still end up getting one
Superchargers are a little more reliable, and somewhat less maintainence.

fuck the d16y7 :madfawk:
its done nothing but cause me grief. It's too damn hard to do anything to the engine.
Being the owner of a 96 lx, I guess I can give you some good advice. LX's and DX's (engine code= d16y7) can get a tubro or SC for their ride by replacing the stock intake manifold with a ex (engine code= d16y8) of a similar generation. But there's no real point, since the y7 isn't built very well. I've heard the y7 can handle maybe 5-6psi of boost, and then kaput, you need a new engine.
the y8's are better built, but even then, if you're swapping an engine, there's better coices. If you really want to go forced induction, I suggest getting a b18b (integra ls)
but IMHO, LX's are best suited for crusin slow and in style that is, until you get a new engine h:
