After a couple years of waiting.......I get to start my GSR build

After all the luck i have had with either my car getting totaled from other people stupidity, Or someone taking my original GSR motor. Or the king of them all buying a "sleeved block" only to find out it had stock CRV sleeve poorly installed, and the block was junk, I finally get to start my 2.0l GSR build. Here are some of the pics so far>>>>>
First off the heart of the build..
97 GSR block with Darton MID sleeves bored out to 84.5mm

Then for the head it will be a GSR head. I have to get a new valve and some springs for it.

For the Trans i will be using a 99 SI transmission

For the Oilling of this beast it will be a Stock GSR oil pump, with a 5 qt Moroso Steel pan with their pick up and studs. For the bearings i am going with ACL's.

For the intake i will be going with the Blox intake manifold with the Hondata intake manifold gasket.

And for the rotational assembly i will be running a Type R Crank, 9.0:1 Wiesco Pistons, Eagle Rods, Stock B series flywheel, with a Compition Clutch (prob stage 2)

Hey Tony as for the valve cover I plan on sending one up with David when he goes to the meet.

    thats a very good idea!

I'm glad to hear that you went with the wiseco's .. I'm planning to run the same bore on the dart block that i'm going to build in the upcomming months. This build is lookin pretty sick man! What compression are you shooting for?

Tmrw my Asembily lube and piston ring filer come in. I have to send back my headgasket cause the dipshit sent me a 84mm Golden Eagle HG not the 84.5 I told him to send. My goal is to have it running in about a month or so. I am so hyped up right now.

Could have gone a little higher but that will work out just fine... a little room for error never hurt anything.

Whats wiseco's part number on those pistons.. I can kinda see it in the picture but the glare is covering the first parts.

I pulled up wiseco's website & the pdf that they have for the honda/acura pistons & you have 4 digits befor the "m", most of their pistons go "K###M###" The numbers after the M signify the bore.

    http://wiseco.com/PDFs/Catalogs/SC07/AcuraHonda.pdf

I'm interested in looking at the spec's on them for my other project.

Well tonight i tore down the head to get it ready for the supertech Springs with Ti Retainers and Supertech valves. Well i was examining the head i found that the previous owner at one point pack this head with packing peanuts. So i spent a good 30min picking out peanuts from the coolent ways. It getting excited, it will be coming together pretty soon.

Just got done putting my head together.

Damn they sent me a box full of popsicles.....

When did they get rid of the wood popsicles sticks????

Look at that its a valve.....

What i went with is the Supertech Dual valve springs with Ti retainers, and the Supertech Low Comp black nitrate valves.

Ok i a question, Do LS and GSR motors use the same Exhaust Manifold?? Im looking at getting a header, and i found a cheap one (no need for an expensive one) but its for the LS. So i need to know if it will work on my GSR.
