Once i get the turbo installed i will be looking for 450-475 (max of the intercooler) I feel that the GSR transmission is way to long in the gearing and the Type R is to short, so i went with the B16 trans. I had it on my last GSR motor and it seemed the keep the engine it the RPM range it liked.

Once you're making the torque that a 450hp setup delivers, the length of the gears will no longer matter. They'll all be short. Better hold on to those other trannies as spares "just in case".
...I just found a totalled '99 GSX near me. :threadwhore:
BTW: Gas is 2.64 gal down the block from me, and 93 octane is less than $3. I'm all like GTMFO. :gtfo: I'm just gearing up for winter projects. We could all use the extra cash, right? If gas keeps doing this, it's going to be an interesting spring.

Awesome build. I hope it turns out well for you.
That's what I want to do, get a motor, and just build it up for a few months or a year. This way, nothing is missed, no cost is spared, and everything is not rushed and slapped together.
