Well after measuring everything up i had to tear the block down again so that i can get the mains line honed.
Here are the measurements Crank 1) .1906 2) .1906 3) .1894 4) .1907 5) .1907 Block 1) .1914 2) .1911 3) .1924 4) .1921 5) .1928 Which yeild these clearences 1) .0008 2) .0005 3) .0030 4) .0014 5) .0021
Once i get the block back i will measure the mains and figure out what bearings i need to get. One of these day the motor will be in and running.
Oops... epic fail.
So basically #4 is right. I think you've figured out why #1 & 2 were so bad. If I saw these #'s, I'd align bore it. It's okay if #3 is a lil' on the loose side for the crank, but the block seems to be where all the variance is. The reason why I'd align bore it is so I don't have to buy several sets of bearings to piece together a fix for that. You want to be able to replace them with 1 standard set, or one off-sized set if you can.

align hone FTW. sounds like you should have done that from the get go. Not to be a dick, buy with all you have into this why didn't you do that from the get go?

I contacted the guy i bought the motor from, and he said it was running fine, no problems with the bearings.
Jafro the spun rod bearing was from the first block i bought. I will call around some other places to see what their rates are.
I know about the motor, you 'splained that on the phone... I think you misunderstood me. My post was edited because at first, I replied to you just quoting you, and that was all I posted. I had to edit in my response, so I <me epic failed at interweb. Not you. I epic failed like the epic.fail.guy. I'm not breakin' your balls. The HAN server probably mailed you an update with just your post in it... just to prove my epic fail.
I used to post funny shit when I'm sick. Now I should just stay in bed. I'm old.

Just to echo Civic2ScoobyNback, you'd probably just need it honed. Align Bore is probably overkill because they have to shave the main caps and cut a new hole. A good hone would probably even 'er out.

well i got my block back from the machine shop. And after fanticly calling Tony, then finding out that i did a stupid mistake in measuring, I finally got what bearings i need to get.
Here are the measurements Crank 1) .1906 2) .1906 3) .1894 4) .1907 5) .1907 Block 1) .3484 2) .3484 3) .3484 4) .3489 5) .3486 and with .0015 on 1,2,4,5 i get these bearing numbers 1).07815 (red) 2) .07815 (red) 4) .07835 (red) 5) .0782 (red) and using .0018 for 3 it will be 3) .07895. (green). I had number 3 at .0015 but Tony advised me to go with .0018, so it pushed it from a yellow to a green. So i will order the part tmrw along with a new oil squirter at the happy price of $100. Atleast im making progress.
Anybody want some Standard King Bearings. equal to honda browns
The other surprise was that the honing was suppose to be 125 but because of Honda Bimetal Block it ended up costing me 270 including a Jet Clean.

Fok doood. Sorry to hear it's being such an expense but I'm glad to hear it's coming together! If things keep going my way, there will be plenty of room in my garage to work on your exhaust (very soon). Of course, that's more money for you to spend on materials for that thing... but... uh... where was I going with that? Oh yeah, the welding is free.
I've got a furnished bedroom for you (with cable and a TV now) if you wind up having to stay overnight or for the weekend to get it straight. Bring an extra $20 spot for Hillbilly Red's Barbecue. I've had their ribs and the brisket and it's to die for.
Multiple wins for you whenever you're ready.

Well the motor is in and running. I drove it home yesterday. Oil pressure if good, water temp is good, and there is no strange noises. Hey tony on cold start up OP is 70 PSI. does that sound right???
The only causuality is the sender for my oil pressure gauge, so i ghetto rigged it right now so that it would work most of the time. I will bring it back in today and check again for leaks. I had to get use to my clutch again, after driving a auto for so long.

excellent cold start pressure due due to the clearances that were chosen and the weight of oil being ran. Idle pressure is good but will probably go down a little after it ends up settling in around 750rpm idle once tuned properly.
good job & glad to see you drove it again!

im running castrol 5w-30 right now then i will switch to Mobil 1 syn 5w-30 later. I think im going to cut the filter open today and look at it today. Im still getting a CEL. I have to check it out and find out what it is. As soon as i turn the car off its clears. Im thinking it will deal with my O2 sensor.
