Default Good speakers?

Hey All, I just got a '98 Civic sedan and was wondering what speakers you recommend for the car. Honestly, the stock speakers are bump pretty good with an aftermarket HU, however I need something that is more clearer and can play louder without distortion.

I was thinking of changing all four speakers or just doing a component setup in the front. Any recommendations on component speakers as I don't want to put a sub in the trunk. TIA.

any name brand speaker upgrade is still better than stocks imo. just try getting some infinity components on ebay, not too expensive and decent sound. Or you can get focal, memphis, boston acoustics. <-- These are the higher end ones but more expensive.

you cant never go wrong with pioneers!!!

but as RatedITR55 said, any aftermarket speakers that are brand names should give you better sound!!

I've got focal components up front, an eclipse center channel, and two alpine 12's in the back in my 96 sedan. its perfect :thumbup:

rear speakers are kinda reduntant. I wouldn't get them.

dont buy no speakers, buy an amp and the subs cost is slightly different but the sound makes big difference, for a while i only had my stock front speakers connected and the subs, and still didnt listen full volume, (on ebay you can get an amp and subs for around 200$) i recommend subs and amp same brand

this is quite possibly the dumbest shit I have ever heard. Please stop contributing.


Also there is a complete audio forum on here if I remember correctly, and there are plenty of people there who can help point you in the right direction with how much you want to spend vs the quality and sound you can get.

yea pioneers with a pioneer deck will sound great i have all pioneers in my del sol and i need loud since the top is always off and yea there plenty loud u shoud go with the 3 way 6 1/2 s you can get them at walmart for like 60 bucks a pair and 75 for the 6x9s

3lo - I really do not want to add a sub in my trunk.

I wouldn't mind getting a decent set of components up front with an amp. I think I might look at Infinity or Pioneer componet speakers.
