Default vss wtf! i have no clue what to do now

well along with everything that has gone wrong with my civic this week i went to get my wheel alignment and of course i need a new tie rod, so i was on my way home and my speedo was jumping around like crazy then it just turned off. about 1 minute later my CEL turns on. i get home and i say maybe my vss went bad. i pulled out one of the extra ones i had laying around and i put it in took it for a test run same thing. tried the thrid one same thing, my buddy came over and we took his out and put it in mine same thing. so what we did was pulled out the sensor and spun it by hand nothing. so we started playing around with the plug while spinning the sensor and the speedo would jump once in a while. could it be my plug went bad on me?

The wires could have broken inside/at the the plug (corrosion?). Or you have a bad ground-clean and tighten all of those inside the engine bay. If that doesn't fix, try another cluster??

Any other electrical things going funky or just the speedo?

most likely its the plug or the wires, the vss grounds at the same point as several other sensors so if the ground went bad youd have more than just a vss problem.

i would def. check your wires and do continuity and ohms test on it. i am pretty sure haynes manuals have the ohms for it. and if it is the plug, go to a junkyard with a pair of wire cutters problem solved.

Default Clips, What Clips

Hey when you say "clips" are you talking about the plug in connector to the VSS? I'm going thru the same thing. Bought a VSS, no go. Borrowed a VSS from same year civic, same result.
