yep so thats the engine...i know i know its slow..and not the most common to work wit blah blah..anyway im tryin tomake it faster..the 120 (if that in an lx) to the wheels is jack crap! so what do i do turbo??
and this is a daily driver 70k miles
want it fast but i dont wanna worry bout blowin up the engine everytime i drive to work

oh yeah non vtec sohc...sucks...i know...so help me fix the problem

im a noob so your probably right but i could of swore it was a b18?? so without swappin cuz im on a budget what could i do?

Make it fast around corners. You won't be able to make any reliable HP if you don't plan on spending much money. And BTW you don't have 120whp, you don't even have 120 crank hp. If I'm not mistaken, you should be making around 110-115 at the crank, so that translates to about 99-100 whp.

If you're insistent on making your stock car faster without swapping, just buy a ZEX nitrous setup and do a 50 shot.

i was thinking a turbo...or is this out of the question.. i know reliable ho can be gained somehow with this engine...lets say i had 5k to spend whats a good setup on that


and ok now what bout 10k whats a good set for that?
im not looking to blow everyone off the road and get a k20 and make it 230 hp i just would like to get anywhere between 170-200.

i have seen some people with this same engine flyin! so help a brotha out!! ha

to hit that number:

turbo, as for brand kits. look at turbonetics. they make good quality kits for the price. other than that greddy kit isnt to horrible for basic turbo.

my recommendation is if you go with a greddy kit also buy some sort of tuneable ems...do like a hondata setup or something similar. the emanage that comes with a greddy kit is kinda poopy for any sort of tuneability

ok so bout how much would all of this run me

a turbo kit which i know requires a new ecu and intercooler
what if i got new pistons and all that too. basically a rebuild..or like a b18 head or something..you know the frankenstein engines

help me out.. i gotta make this ride faster..it looks clean but i got no go!
