Default omg... engine gone! what 2 do now?

I blew my D16Y8 engine... one of my valves dropped and that was it. I don't know if I should rebuild the engine im wondering if all I need is pistons and valves, ARP head studs and that be it?

Should I get a used d16y8? would that be an easy engine to find?

what would be a cheap and simple swap to perform? I dont have money or time, so im pretty screwed...

if I could I'd do a GSR swap, but thats expensive. how much would a d16y8 run and where can i find one a good one?

i can't seem to find any trusty honda engine sites online that even offere b-16's or d16y8s.

ne help will be appreciated

it's at the shop, one of the guys called and told me that the valve dropped, and im going to need to rebuild it or just get another engine.

yeah I'd like to to just go to the shop and see what's needed to be done and see if their statement is exaggerated so they can put in a new engine and get more money from me.

I would have them show you before doing anything.

If you have the budget, a swap with a manual conversion would be a good idea. Otherwise, rebuild it.

Alright I would just get another motor, drop that in and have your car to drive around in. THEN take apart the other motor, and build that for how ever much spray your using. A simple build just needs headstuds, pistons, rods. You shouldnt need to mess with the head unless your wanting to rev past the stock redline.

Dude, if you are worried about money, get a b18b. More power than a D-series and like half the cost of a gs-r engine.

I belive you mean more power potential, or more power stock. my new set up will be able to hand unboosted and lightly boosted B series there ass, dont discount the D so quickly

A guy at the shop thinks the Zex stage 2 camshaft was responsible by causing too much stress on the engine with it's lift and the valves were tapping the pistons. I guess the Zex stage 2 cam cause the valves to tap and it's not just the noise from the added lift n duration but the results of it.
