Catalytic Converter is missing!!!
I bought my 1999 Civic HX from a private party a few months ago. He sold me the car without a Catalytic Converter. I live in California, how, where and how much can I expect to pay for this thing?

lol...you can go to ur local muffler shop and pick a universal one up for like ~50-70 dollars...or you can go on EBAY and find a cheapy one...if you live near EL MONTE california you can stop by "rafael's muffler shop"
-
Well, as far as I know it's illegal for junk yards to sell catalytic converters for ANY car in CALIFORNIA due to the strict emission laws. Any more suggestions???

Honestly, I just need my car to pass smog and it won't since my check engine light is on and I'm missing a catalytic converter. Also, i think my o2 sensor is not working...I ran a diagnostic test at a local shop and they said it's constantly at 1.1 volts (that's not good). I guess the voltage needs to vary

Why not just go to Ledezmas in Chula Vista, or Jeraulds in National City? I'm sure that you could get your cat. conveter there for a good price.
-
Ledezmas? Where is that? I live in Chula

civics are so damn clean that you can friggin run a test pipe as a cat converter and you will still pass smog...just go to the junk yard and pic up and O2 Sensor

Well, they just recently moved. Where Big O' Tires used to be on Broadway. I'm guessing the corner of Broadway and F st.

I rather buy a new o2 sensor...a used one could be bad if you think about it. How much are these things brand new anyway?

I just bought a new Bosch o2 sensor at Kragen for 64.99. Also on broadway, just south of Ledezma's
-
Hey thats not bad...I was expecting 150 or so

Looked it up on Google, seems that Ledezma's is on the corner of Broadway and Roosevelt, just north of "H" St. And I guess you probably already know that the Kragen is north of Ledezma's at the corner of Broadway and "E" St. Sorry for the bad directions.
