CV shaft
I just replaced the right CV shaft on my 2004 civic LX, and when I drive, it pops out of the transmission, and neither wheel will turn. Also, I replaced the washer, and it still leaks. How do I fix this?

It might not be. When I tightened the 32mm, it pulled out a little. Had somewhere to go so I took the parents car. By the way....those hybrids can MOVE!! hit over 100, and the ride was still smooth. Too bad its auto.

What I did was covered the pinion part that goes into the tranny in grease, used a tire jack to keep it level, forced it in there, then used 2 hands to really work it in there, put the hub back on, hit the 32 mm with a rubber mallet, then did the 2 hand thing again, hit it with the mallot 1 more time, then used a breaker bar with a 10 foot pole from an old metal fence and stood on it untill it could hold my weight. Hasn't budged yet.
Don't know if it was ALL necessary, but the last thing you want is the axle pinions getting eaten up in the transmission.

Ok, got it all done again. You were right, it wasn't in all the way. Hit it in with a hammer, then put everything back together. It leaked a little, but when I got both sides up and fired it up, it poured out. My uncle did an american car, and said there is only one true way to get it in so it seals. Is that true for mine? Hope my new springs go a little better than this.
