Default Opinions on 4.785 final drive install. Should I?

I'm pretty sure alot of you guys have read my other post about GSR/B16 trannies.
https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=186697

What do you guys think about me installing a 4.785 final drive in my GSR tranny instead of getting the B16 tranny. Will the difference in acceleration be noticable? Also around how much do those final drive cost around. Give me some opinions on this setup guys. Thanks

Accelleration will be better, yes, but the highway cruising RPMs and fuel consumption will be rediculous.

:werd: If you do, don't do any extended highway trips. The exhaust drone will drive you to shoot yourself. Just put a JDM GSR tranny with LSD, or a B16 tranny w/LSD. You don't need a final drive THAT short. Don't you have a B20? Torque is your friend

with a 4.785 final drive at 60 mph you should hit about 4500rpm in 5th gear. Great for the circuit It will eat a lot more gas on the highways. But great for the pulling power of not having to downshift so much.

That works out to 6k RPM @ 80mph. My car does 3k RPM @ 80 MPH and the exhaust is borderline annoying.

use this: http://www.autocrossing.com/cgi-bin/gearcalc.cgi to figure out where you'll be at certain rpm's
