Default Tie bar and sway bar

Hey guys, just wondering if somebody could explain to me exactly where a tie bar exactly bolts up and if anybodys got any pics that'd be great. THere is a deal for a 1995 del sol that includes a front and rear strut tower bar and a front and rear tie bar, but i'm not quite sure what a tie bar is and if it's really nessesary. Pics will help alot thanks!

theres a pic of my buddy "carta79" Comptech sway bar and tie bar. The tie bar goes mounted on the control arms. You will defently notice a difference on the handling of the car thats with a sway bar to im not sure if you will notice a difference with just a tie bar.

Most tiebars are pretty much useless. They are on the rear subframe and bolt where the bolts that hold the lcas to the subframe are.

IMO except for the ones that protect the subframe, ie comptech, they are just fashion.

Strut bars and tie bars are not a reason to by a car. Don't let them con you into thinking you should pay more because they are on.

ebay strut bar: $20
ebay tie bar: $20

brand name strut bars can cost $150-$350 new.
