Default My System is maken my car act weird

Thats right my Stero system is making my car act kinda weird. I have a Pioneer DEH-P4000 head unit, Two 12' Bluapunkt subs, and a Legacy 4ch. 1000watt AMP. In my 93 civic EX coupe. Now whats happening is i can olny turn it up to level 8-9 after that my Tech. starts to fluctuate up and down from 500-1200. Ya think it may have something to do with my battery power? i've been wanting to get a Optima battery anyway. I've tryed ajusting my idel but still happens.... any ideas.

you are overdrawing the system, and your alternator cant keep up.

Try like a 2.5 farad Capacitor, or a more powerful Alternator. I really don't think a better batttery will help, cause in this case it's your alternator that's having problems.

How old is your alternator? My Accord alternator did that when i was running two amps equaling 2500 watts. When i replaced the alt. my car acted a whole lot better.

Get a new alternator, at least a 1 farad capacitor, and PLEASE stay away from those legacy amps, mines caught on fire in my old maxima in my trunk. ANd i used to always joke about people having those fire extinguishers in the car....They are very crappy amps.

mine did the exact same thing right before the battery died. Get either a better battery/ alternator or both.

You battery could have died from the bad alternator...

Capcitor will help you greatly. I run almost 2500 watts with no problem at all, and I have the OEM alternator.

no, mine died because I left it going at a show too long. Jumped it and drove around for a while - no problems since then.
