so im driving last night and traffic is slowing down so i go to push down the clutch to downshift... but the clutch pedal was not there. i freak out and pull over to notice that the pedal is all the way the pushed in and did not kick back. i pump it a coupld of time by hand and notice it is loose like it is not connected to anything at all. i added some clutch fluid but that didnt do anything. i talked to a mechanic and he said i might just need to drain the clutch. is that all i have to do or will i need more work?

you might wana check the master cylinder.
