Rough running problem
in my automatic honda civic si(canada)..whenever it shifts gears, the car jerks just alittle bit sometimes..the same thing happens when it downshift as well. i did a tune-up today(spark plugs, distributor cap & rotor, fuel filter) but i'm just guessing it might be:
spark plugs wires? fuel injection system? vacuum hose leak? or just needs a tranmission oil change? timing? any ideas?

2 things can cause this. 1 is not a problem. The other is a minor problem.
1. You're driving the car before it's completely warmed up.
-the idle speed is sometimes as much as 1000 RPMs higher when the engine's cold, and that can result in jerky shifts.
2. Your idle speed is set too high when the engine is warm.
I think Automatic cars are supposed to idle at 850rpms... but my service manual is nowhere in sight... you'll have to double check that in yours if the needle is any higher than that and the car's warmed up all the way.
You should flush/fill automatic transmissions every 30,000 miles ( or 48,280.32 "canadian").

HOLY CRAP!
Slow that thing down!
I edited my last post to reflect transmission service. Even if that's shorter than what your manual reccomends for service intervals, it should be done at LEAST that often because Hondas and Acuras with 4-bangers don't have serviceable transmission filters. They never get changed. So you have to service them regularly or boom. But they're still well-built transmissions.

any more possible ideas about why my car is jerking when shifting and downshifting would be appreciated.
