Springs and struts never match
Progressive spring. Adjustable strut/shock.
I'd say it's impossible to find a matching spring/strut combination (without doing your own valving and even then it's still too much effort).
Progressive rate springs means there's not a single spring rate. So you gotta look at the spring's compression displacement to rate graph... which the manufacturer never releases. So even though KYB AGX's are adjustable, I will never get them to match the H&Rs as well as a designed system like the OEM or complete coil over sets (by a good manufacturer).
Don't get me wrong, I like the better (I think) handling from the aftermarket suspension, but you give up a lot in ride quality, and I don't mean just because of the stiffness. And I only have the mildly stiffer H&R OE Sports.
This is my warning to those who are anal about the broader effects of changing an OEM part out.... or someone please let me know what I've got wrong.
