You are suposed to clean them with alcohol before you install them and heat them up. What headers do you have? What type of finish?

I used it on my A'PEXi GT headers and it came out like a mirror even took off some of the burned in hand prints.

Yea, stock manifolds look like poop. The best way to clean them is by covering them up with the heatshield .

A good sanding an a couple coats of high temp black paint on the stock heat sheild makes the engine look minty again.

    Eagle One:

Polishing metal is no easy task. However, with these simple and effective tips, the task can be made less laborious: When polishing aluminum, speed instead of pressure is key. Apply metal polishes with a brisk motion instead of increased pressure. This will yield better results with no scratching. For removal of hard water spots from aluminum wheels, use a mixture of vinegar and water (mixed 1:1). Wipe the mixture on the surface and allow to set for 30 seconds. Wash clean and reapply until spots are gone. For routine cleaning of metal, try using 20/20 Perfect Vision Auto Glass Cleaner for a final wipe. The cleaners will produce unsurpassed shine without streaking. Dr. Wen-Chen Su, Technical Director, Eagle One, advises, "When polishing aluminum, you should see a significant amount of black appear on your rag. If you do not see this, stop. The surface is clear coated and a paint polish should be used."

Also, any brand of silver polish kicks ass when you use it to polish aluminum wheels. Also Be carefull, some wheels have a clear coat on them...
