I've sat in an RSX, the seats didn't feel like "an amazing compromise" to me. Sure they look kind of cool but they don't keep you really locked into the seat. Don't mind me though, I'm hardcore and only really want a 1-piece seat anyway. I don't care how the interior looks, as long as there's a 1-piece driver's seat with a 4-point harness and a plain-jane passenger seat. I don't care what they have to sit on. Nissan sort of gets the idea with the new Z, the driver's seat has much more aggressive bolstering than the passenger seat. Now I haven't given it the official ass-test so I can't comment on the effectiveness, but in theory I like the concept.
Now if they put these suckers in the RSX then I'd be hooked:
