Default Service Bulletin for rear wheel bearing 06 07 civics

I read in another Civic forum that apparently there is a service bulletin out for the rear ABS sensor O-ring. The O-ring can get crushed and allow water to enter the rear wheel bearings and cause them to fail, leading to a very annoying hum.

I haven't recieved anything from Honda Canada on this (I have an 06 EX coupe).

Did they say it was a model re-call or did it just affect a specific production run?

The posting was not specific to that. It was just a mention of a service bulletin and no mention of a recall.

I actually got a letter from Honda about it in the mail, I believe it said something about improper installation... So I took mine in and they said that it doesn't apply to all of 'em but it applies to mine ('07 coupe), so they ordered the rings to replace 'em.

i have direct experience with this recall as a tech for honda. it involves removing and inspecting the abs sensor and o-rings. i have yet to encounter a problem, but i understand the bad shipment was on the east coast. its not a big deal to have checked, and its free. we don't even remove the wheels.

The bulletin says total wheel bearing failure is possible.

I've inspected about 20 cars so far, 0 defects found.

I haven't received any notification about this matter yet. I've got an '07 Si sedan. We'll see. :hs:
